About
The writer behind
the rankings
I'm Nathan — a freelance B2B SaaS content writer from Ibadan, Nigeria. I've spent the last 5+ years writing for brands like HubSpot, Zapier, Vimeo, and CoSchedule, helping them turn organic search into a reliable pipeline channel.
Background
From $1 per 1,000 words
to $1,000 per piece
I got my start in writing in my fourth year at FUTA, where I studied Statistics. I was working for a guy who was working for a guy — and at the current exchange rate, I was earning around $1 per 1,000 words. Good times.
A month after NYSC, COVID hit. Finding work locally was nearly impossible, so I turned back to writing. I found writers on Twitter and LinkedIn — people like Lizzie, Chima, Elise, and Marijana — who were building real careers in B2B SaaS content. So I studied what they wrote, where they published, and how they thought about content strategy.
I took courses, read obsessively, got certified, and pitched relentlessly. Nobody drops serious money on a new writer, so I started with guest posts to build a byline. Shoutout to Ben and Rebecca, who handed me my first big ones — that opened the door to paid work.
Today I write for brands like Zapier, HubSpot, Vimeo, and CoSchedule. What makes me proud isn't just the rate jump from $1 to $1,000 per piece — it's when the work actually works.

How I work
What I believe about good content
Content should earn its place
Every piece I write has a job: a keyword to rank for, a buyer to convince, a question to answer. I don't write for word counts.
Research before writing
I spend more time in the SERP and with the brief than I do in a doc. The thinking is the work. The writing is just recording it.
Understand the buyer, not just the topic
I write for the person who'll read the article at 9am on a Tuesday with six other tabs open. That reader has a specific problem and limited patience.
Relationships over transactions
My best clients have been partners for years. I invest in understanding their brand, their audience, and what success looks like for their team.
Off the brief
A few things that aren't on my CV
Based in
Ibadan, Nigeria — neighbor to the louder and more popular Lagos.
Off the clock
Cooking, the gym, and good movies. In no particular order.
Hot take
Avatar: The Last Airbender is the greatest animation ever made. Into the Spider-Verse is a close second. Not taking questions.
Degree
Bachelor's in Statistics from FUTA. Turns out it's useful for reading SERP data.
