Best SEO Companies in Nigeria: How to Choose the Right Agency

Every SEO agency in Nigeria promises you a page one ranking on Google. That makes shortlisting hard, because the sales pitches sound identical while the actual work varies wildly.

The right SEO partner grows qualified traffic, leads, and revenue for years. The wrong one burns six months of budget, or worse, builds spammy links that tank your site long after the contract ends.

This guide covers seven credible options, what they charge, what to ask on the sales call, and the red flags that should end a conversation.

I should say upfront that I’m on this list at number three. I’ve marked where I’m the wrong choice as clearly as where I’m the right one, and the other six entries are based on public information, client reviews, and each company’s own published work.

What should an SEO company in Nigeria do?

Before comparing agencies, know what you’re buying.

Full SEO support covers technical audits, keyword research, on-page optimization, content strategy and writing, link building, local SEO and Google Business Profile work, and reporting that ties it all to revenue.

Almost no agency does all of it equally well.

Some are technical-first, while others are content shops. The mismatch between what you’re buying and what an agency is good at is where most bad engagements start.

So before any sales call, decide whether you need local visibility (a clinic in Abuja, a law firm in Lekki), national ecommerce rankings, or content-led SEO that generates B2B leads. Those are three different specialists.

How I shortlisted these companies

I evaluated companies on five criteria: visible client results or case studies, verified reviews on platforms like Clutch, service depth, transparency about process and pricing, and fit for a specific type of business rather than “everyone.”

1. Wild Fusion

Best for: Enterprise brands and large companies that want SEO as part of a full-service digital program.

Wild Fusion has been around since 2011, operates out of Lagos, Accra, and Nairobi, and was the first Google Certified Partner in West Africa. Its client list includes Unilever, Diageo, Access Bank, and First Bank, which tells you the tier it plays in.

Strengths: Deep bench (60+ specialists), experience with regulated industries like banking, and the governance and reporting structure enterprise teams require.

Limitation: Budget. Clutch lists its minimum project size at $10,000+, with clients reporting monthly retainers around $5,400. If you’re an SME, you’re not its ideal client, and SEO is one service among many, not the entire focus.

2. SEOGidi

Best for: Startups, SaaS companies, and ecommerce stores that want an SEO-only specialist.

SEOGidi is one of the few Nigerian agencies focused purely on SEO, not SEO-plus-everything. It runs dedicated tracks for SaaS, fintech, ecommerce, and local SEO and supports businesses expanding into EMEA markets.

Strengths: Specialist focus, industry-specific playbooks, payment in naira or international currencies, and no long contracts. The agency claims an average of 340% organic traffic growth within six months for clients, though as with any agency claim, ask for the case studies behind the average.

Limitation: If you want SEO bundled with paid ads, social, and web design under one roof, a full-service shop fits better.

3. Nathan Ojaokomo

Best for: B2B SaaS companies that need content-led SEO, especially bottom-funnel content.

Hey 👋🏽, I’m Nathan

Full disclosure, I’m not an agency or SEO company per se.

I’m a specialist writer and SEO content consultant who’s spent five-plus years producing search content for B2B SaaS companies including Zapier, HubSpot, Taboola, and Paddle.

I work on the content side of SEO. Keyword strategy, comparison and alternatives pages, best-of lists, and use-case content that ranks and generates pipeline.

Strengths: Deep B2B SaaS specialization, content built for both Google rankings and AI search citations, and direct access to the person doing the work rather than an account manager.

Limitation: I’m one person, not a team. If you need a technical SEO overhaul, local SEO, or high-volume production across ten content types, an agency is the better call. I work per piece or on a monthly retainer, and my clients are mostly international SaaS companies rather than local Nigerian businesses.

4. Crank Digital

Best for: Nigerian SMEs that want a data-driven SEO partner without enterprise pricing.

Crank Digital is a Lagos SEO company working across fintech, fashion, real estate, education, and ecommerce. Client reviews cite concrete outcomes, including one reporting 120% organic traffic growth in four months.

Strengths: SEO-focused rather than a generalist. Local SEO and Google Business Profile services for location-based businesses, plus web design built with SEO in mind from the start.

Limitation: Pricing is quote-based rather than published, so budget clarity requires a call.

5. TAGET Media

Best for: Local and service-based businesses that want SEO plus broader digital marketing.

TAGET Media is a Lagos-based digital marketing firm offering SEO, PPC, social media management, video, and email marketing.

The agency has worked across real estate, media, agriculture, and security. It keeps SEO delivery in-house rather than outsourcing it to third parties, which is more common in this market than most clients realize.

Strengths: One partner for multiple channels, in-house delivery, and its own site ranks for competitive commercial terms, which is a reasonable proof point for any SEO vendor.

Limitation: Generalist breadth means less depth in any one specialty. A dedicated SEO shop will usually go deeper into technical work.

6. eBrand Promotion

Best for: Businesses in Abuja and northern Nigeria that want a nearby partner.

eBrand Promotion is an Abuja-based digital marketing agency covering web solutions, SEO, and digital marketing. Most Nigerian SEO talent concentrates in Lagos, so an established Abuja option matters if you value in-person meetings and a partner who knows your local market.

Strengths: Abuja presence, combined web development and SEO capability, and experience serving businesses across Nigeria from the capital.

Limitation: Less visible case study depth than the Lagos specialists on this list, so push harder for references and sample reports.

7. Simtech Creative

Best for: Brands in Warri, Port Harcourt, and the South-South that want an award-winning creative partner with SEO capability.

Simtech Creative is a Warri-based marketing company covering branding, web design, and digital marketing, with verified client reviews on Clutch. Like eBrand in Abuja, part of its value is geographic. Credible digital talent outside Lagos is scarce.

Strengths: Strong creative and branding work alongside SEO, verified reviews, and regional market knowledge.

Limitation: SEO is part of a broader creative offering. If organic search is your only priority, a specialist will focus harder.

How much do SEO companies in Nigeria charge?

Most Nigerian SEO providers charge $25 to $199 per hour, according to published rate data from agency directories

You’ll see four pricing models in practice. Monthly retainers are the most common, followed by one-time audits, project-based work, and content packages.

Entry-level retainers for local SEO start around ₦150,000 to ₦400,000 monthly, depending on scope.

Mid-market SEO programs run higher, and enterprise work at agencies like Wild Fusion starts at five figures.

One-time audits and starter packages typically begin around $1,500.

Some costs won’t appear in the base quote. Content writing, website fixes the agency recommends but doesn’t implement, tool subscriptions, and digital PR often land as extras.

Ask what’s included before comparing prices, because a cheap retainer that excludes content and implementation usually ends up costing more in total.

And treat anything dramatically below market as a warning, not a bargain. Quality SEO takes senior time, and $100-a-month packages fund neither.

Questions to ask before hiring

The sales call tells you more than the proposal. Ask:

  1. Have you worked with businesses like ours, and can I see the results?
  2. What SEO problems do you already see on our website?
  3. What would you prioritize in the first 90 days?
  4. Do you implement fixes or only recommend them?
  5. Who exactly will work on our account?
  6. How do you build backlinks?
  7. What is your content creation process?
  8. What does your monthly report look like? Ask for a sample.
  9. What do you need from our team to succeed?
  10. Do you guarantee rankings?

That last one is a trap question. The correct answer is no. Nobody controls Google, and any agency that guarantees positions is either lying or planning shortcuts that will hurt you later.

Red flags to walk away from

If you see these signs, look the other way:

  • Guaranteed first-page rankings or “results in 30 days”
  • No audit before recommendations
  • Link-building methods they won’t explain
  • No sample reports or case studies
  • Suspiciously cheap packages
  • Contracts with long lock-ins and unclear exit terms
  • Heavy reliance on AI-generated content with no strategy or human editing
  • Talking only about traffic, never about leads or revenue

Avoid any SEO company that promises certainty in a channel where results depend on competition, your website, your content, and algorithm changes nobody controls.

How to choose the right SEO company in Nigeria

Start with the problem you need solved.

If:

  • Your website has technical issues; you need an SEO partner that can audit, diagnose, and implement fixes.
  • You run a local business; local SEO and Google Business Profile experience should matter more than a flashy enterprise client list.
  • You’re a B2B SaaS company; you’ll probably get more value from a content-led SEO partner who understands product positioning, bottom-funnel keywords, and how search content turns into pipeline.

That’s why there’s no single “best” SEO company for every business.

Wild Fusion makes sense for larger brands with enterprise budgets. SEOGidi or Crank Digital may be a better fit for startups, ecommerce companies, and growing SMEs. eBrand Promotion and Simtech Creative are useful options if location and regional context matter.

And if you’re a B2B software company that needs SEO content built around comparison pages, alternative articles, best-of lists, and AI search visibility, that’s where I can help.
