TL;DR

  • Start with who buys from you. Anurag Pareek suits manufacturers, MSPs and cybersecurity vendors, Beth Chernes suits accounting and financial firms, and Nick LeRoy suits enterprise companies with an SEO backlog.
  • For SaaS, I focus on BoFu content, Logan Bryant on fintech, Tarun Gehani on roadmaps, Bill Widmer on one-marketer teams, Taylor Scher on fractional SEO and Jess Joyce on technical problems.
  • Published prices start around $1,500 for one-off strategy and $3,500 to $7,500 a month for ongoing work. Six of the 11 don’t publish prices.
  • Before you sign, ask who does the work, what they’ve done for buyers like yours and how long you’re committing for.

In November 1990, the world learned that the two performers who won a Grammy as Milli Vanilli hadn’t sung on the album. It had sold 7 million copies. The Recording Academy took the award back, a first in the Grammys’ 33-year history.

Buying SEO help carries a smaller version of that risk, because the senior person who wins you over on the sales call may not be the one doing your work. If you’re looking for the best B2B SEO consultants, you probably want the person singing on the record.

All 11 people below do their own singing. You’ll see who each one suits, what they’ve done and what they charge as of November 2026. I’m number three.

The best B2B SEO consultants at a glance

Find your kind of company or problem in the second column and start there. The order isn’t a ranking, and prices come from each consultant’s own site.

What is a B2B SEO consultant?

A B2B SEO consultant is one experienced person who helps a company that sells to other businesses get found by buyers in Google and AI answers. Some only advise, and others do the work too. Searches are smaller than in consumer SEO, several people weigh in on each purchase and deals can take months, so the work gets judged on pipeline rather than visits.

How I chose these B2B SEO consultants

I started with nine published lists, one of them mine, and Google’s results for this search. Four of the lists cover SaaS only, and one calls 10 agencies “consultants.” Google’s AI Overview does something similar, leading with agencies such as Directive and Optimist under a heading that mentions both agencies and consultants.

Google AI Overview for best B2B SEO consultants, listing Directive Consulting and Optimist first
Screenshot from Google’s AI Overview for “best b2b seo consultants” in US results.

Then I went to each person’s own site and kept the ones who passed four checks.

  • A person does the work. You deal with the name on the site. Firms get a pointer near the end instead of an entry.
  • B2B is in the offer. The site says so, or it names B2B clients you can look up.
  • The proof can be checked. That means named clients, case studies or past roles. Every result below is the consultant’s own number, so test it on a call.
  • You can hire them. The site gives you a way to start today.

1. Anurag Pareek: Best for manufacturers, MSPs and cybersecurity vendors

Anurag Pareek case studies page with results for a managed services provider and a paint manufacturer
Screenshot from Anurag Pareek’s case studies.

Engineers spot a vague claim fast, and engineers are who a lot of Anurag Pareek’s clients sell to. Anurag is an independent consultant who takes B2B clients only, including manufacturers and distributors that sell online, and you work with Anurag directly from the first call.

Why Anurag Pareek might be a fit

Few consultants on any list have much to show outside software. For a thermal engineering manufacturer, Anurag built a glossary of more than 75 terms and had the client’s own engineers review the articles, and average position rose from 22.7 to 17.3. A Canadian managed services provider formed from five merged businesses went from 7 first-page keywords to 208 between January 2021 and July 2023.

Anurag also spent years leading SEO in-house at telecom and managed services companies, so limited developer time and slow approvals won’t come as a surprise.

Anurag works from Dubai and Toronto, so check that your meeting hours overlap.

Prices aren’t published, so you’ll need to book a consult. Engagements run month to month, and you can stop with 30 days’ notice.

2. Beth Chernes: Best for accounting and financial firms

Beth Chernes case studies page showing how SEO doubled an accounting firm’s revenue
Screenshot from Beth Chernes’s case studies.

A CPA firm that lives on referrals has a different problem from a SaaS startup, and it answers to different rules. Beth Chernes is an SEO consultant with a law degree who builds search programs for accounting firms and financial service companies, and the offer also covers nonprofits and other B2B companies.

Why Beth Chernes might be a fit

The pitch is leads that don’t depend on who your partners know, from content that stays within industry regulations. That legal background may save you a round or two with compliance. The case studies include a nationally known accounting firm that doubled its revenue within 22 months and an accounting firm whose paid ads reached a 3x return after a new plan.

A firm’s revenue can double for many reasons, so ask how much of that growth came from search. The site also says “we” in places, so find out who would write your content.

Beth Chernes pricing

SEO starts at $1,750, with engagements averaging six months or more. Content strategy starts at $1,500 and website pages at $2,500. The page doesn’t say whether $1,750 is a monthly figure, so ask.

3. Nathan Ojaokomo: Best for SaaS companies focused on BoFu content

Nathan Ojaokomo’s B2B SaaS SEO consultant page with four proof figures
Screenshot from my B2B SEO consultant page.

I’m a B2B SaaS writer and consultant, and since 2020 I’ve worked with companies such as Zapier, HubSpot, Softr and CoSchedule. My work sits at the bottom of the funnel, in the comparison, alternatives and best-of pages people read right before they book a demo.

Why I might be a fit

If your blog gets traffic and sales can’t point to a deal it brought in, I audit what you’ve published, find what your buyers search when they compare tools, and then write those pages myself or brief your writers.

An article I wrote for Zapier reached #1 and saves the company more than $20,000 a year in ad spend. Softr’s best-of article reached about $130K a month in traffic value at its peak, by Semrush’s estimate. One listing in a roundup on my own site also brought an agency a $36K ARR deal in 10 days.

I don’t handle deep technical work. If you have a migration or a JavaScript rendering problem, talk to Jess Joyce at number nine.

My pricing

Content strategy starts at $1,500, articles at $700 and strategy plus writing at $3,500 a month. The Pipeline Sprint is a flat $7,500 for 90 days. Every rate is on my pricing page.

4. Nick LeRoy: Best for enterprise companies with an SEO backlog

Nick LeRoy’s fractional SEO leader page with retainers starting at $7,000 a month
Screenshot from Nick LeRoy’s consulting page.

At a large company, a good SEO recommendation can sit in a ticket queue for a year. Nick LeRoy is a St. Paul consultant who steps in at that point, working between strategy and execution so the right work gets approved and shipped across teams.

Why Nick LeRoy might be a fit

Independent since 2020, Nick lists Keurig, Grow Therapy, Apartments.com and Policygenius among past clients. The B2B references are in the testimonials, where Pipedrive’s CMO credits Nick with help hiring and onboarding its SEO leadership, and Mortarr’s CEO says Nick fixed in two months what the team had chased for two years.

Hiring may come up anyway, since Nick also owns SEOJobs.com and writes the #SEOForLunch newsletter.

Several of the logos on the site sell to consumers, so ask for examples with long sales cycles.

Nick LeRoy pricing

Consulting retainers start at $7,000 a month with a 6-month commitment. An advisory option for companies that already have an SEO team or agency carries a 3-month commitment. Its page shows a garbled “$4,00.00,” so confirm whether that means $4,000.

Logan Bryant case studies page with a 15x growth chart and studies for Airbase and Approve.com

Logan Bryant’s best-known work happened inside finance software. At Tipalti, Logan led the organic and inbound programs behind 15x growth in non-branded traffic and SQLs, then carried that work through an acquisition. These days Logan advises B2B SaaS teams independently.

Why Logan Bryant might be a fit

The work stays close to the purchase, on pricing, alternatives, comparison and integration searches. If you want a defined project, the BOFU Blitz is a 60-day sprint done alongside your team. Airbase is the second finance software reference, with 2x SEO growth over a nine-month program before Paylocity acquired the company.

Logan’s Tipalti write-up credits teammates, which is fair for an in-house result. Ask who would write and ship the pages on your account.

6. Tarun Gehani: Best for pre-Series A to Series C SaaS companies that need a roadmap

Tarun Gehani’s services page: the right SEO and AI visibility work, scoped for your situation
Screenshot from Tarun Gehani’s services page.

Plenty of small marketing teams know SEO should be doing more and can’t say what to do on Monday. Tarun Gehani, an Ann Arbor consultant, builds the plan for them and runs every engagement personally. The site names SaaS companies from pre-Series A to Series C, plus $5M to $50M companies with one or two marketers.

Why Tarun Gehani might be a fit

You leave with a document you own. An audit typically takes two to three weeks, and the usual path runs from audit to roadmap, then to a clean handoff or month-to-month advice you can pause.

Tarun has worked in SEO since 2009, including a decade at the agency Pure Visibility that ended in the SEO Director role. Forbes and Search Engine Land have both quoted Tarun.

The independent practice only opened in February 2026, and the testimonials I read come from outside SaaS, so ask for SaaS examples from the agency years.

7. Bill Widmer: Best for $1M to $10M ARR SaaS companies with one marketer

Screenshot from Bill Widmer’s site.

If you run email, social, PPC and a blog nobody owns at a small SaaS company, Bill Widmer’s site was written with you in mind. Bill is a B2B SaaS consultant whose offer is getting your content ranked in Google and cited by AI assistants, then tying that traffic to demos.

Why Bill Widmer might be a fit

Semrush and Ahrefs both brought Bill in to work on their own content, and monday.com and Yotpo appear among past clients too. Bill also built a travel blog to 500,000 monthly visitors and sold it for $350,000 in 2023, so Bill has had personal money riding on content that converts.

Bill’s own list of SaaS consultants says who Bill isn’t right for, namely companies that want 20-person execution, programmatic scale or paid media. Ask for a result from a company your size, since the headline proof comes from tool companies and a travel blog.

Bill Widmer pricing

That same list puts retainers at $3,500 to $10,000 a month. The site shows two retainer slots open and offers a free AI teardown, and you apply rather than book.

8. Taylor Scher: Best for SaaS companies that want a fractional SEO lead

Taylor Scher’s pricing page showing the SEO consulting tier starting from $4,000
Screenshot from Taylor Scher’s services and pricing page.

Some SaaS companies need a senior SEO in the building and can’t justify the salary. Taylor Scher’s fractional tier is built for that gap, embedding in your content and marketing team and covering technical SEO, on-page work, internal links and brand mention outreach.

Why Taylor Scher might be a fit

The yardstick is demos. Taylor’s site reports 333% more demos for a legal tech brand, 150% more pipeline leads for a supply chain SaaS and $300K in new pipeline for a PDF editing SaaS. If you aren’t ready for fractional work, lower tiers cover consulting alone or consulting plus content.

Percentages depend on the starting point, so ask what those numbers grew from.

Taylor Scher pricing

Published tiers start at $4,000 for consulting, $5,500 with content, $7,500 for fractional SEO and $10,000 with link building. The page doesn’t say “per month,” so confirm how they’re billed.

9. Jess Joyce: Best for B2B SaaS companies with technical SEO problems

Jess Joyce’s page: Toronto SEO consultant specializing in technical SEO and AI search visibility for B2B SaaS

Some SEO problems live in the code. Jess Joyce started as a front-end developer before moving into marketing, so she can diagnose a JavaScript rendering issue, QA the fix with your developers or ship it herself. Based in Toronto, she focuses on B2B SaaS, especially communications platforms, compliance tools and location tech.

Why Jess Joyce might be a fit

Call Jess after a visibility drop, a messy migration or an indexing problem. With more than 80 website migrations behind her, she offers a focused Technical Visibility Sprint, a light advisory retainer and mentorship for in-house marketers who want to think more technically. Her site also says plainly that she isn’t the person for keyword-led blog posts, which saves everyone a call.

The big names on her site, such as Honda and Pfizer, span a 20-year career, so ask for recent B2B SaaS examples.

Prices aren’t published. Tell her what you’re working on and what changed, and she says she’ll tell you quickly if she’s a fit.

10. Eli Schwartz: Best for companies whose product could generate pages that rank

Eli Schwartz’s homepage: the Product-Led SEO expert, featured in HubSpot, TechCrunch and USA Today
Screenshot from Eli Schwartz’s site.

Eli Schwartz wrote Product-Led SEO, and the idea behind the book is that your best search pages can come from the product instead of the blog. If your product has templates, integrations or data that could become thousands of useful pages, that’s the conversation to have with Eli.

Why Eli Schwartz might be a fit

Eli led SEO at SurveyMonkey, growing organic search from nearly zero into one of its largest growth drivers, before and after the IPO. Clients named on the site include Zendesk, Gusto, Mixpanel, Shutterstock and Quora.

This kind of work needs product and engineering time, so check you can get it before you sign.

11. Kevin Indig: Best for fast-growing tech companies that want a senior SEO advisor

Kevin Indig’s testimonials page: startups, scale-ups and public companies

Kevin Indig led SEO and growth at Shopify, G2 and Atlassian, and G2 is about as B2B as it gets. Fast-growing companies now hire Kevin for advice on search, AI visibility and the research that gives sales teams something to quote.

Why Kevin Indig might be a fit

Ramp’s Head of Growth credits Kevin with defining the strategy that turned SEO into a multi-million dollar pipeline channel and with helping hire its SEO team. Other testimonials come from leaders at Upwork, Ironclad and Nextdoor. Growth Memo, Kevin’s weekly newsletter, lets you see how Kevin thinks before you spend anything.

The services page describes advisory support, so make sure someone on your team can carry the plan out.

What does a B2B SEO consultant do?

The mix differs by person, which is why the list above looks so varied. Between them, these are the jobs you’re hiring for.

  • Finding the searches buyers make. A plant engineer may search a spec, while a software buyer may look for alternatives to a tool they’re leaving.
  • Fixing what stops those pages from ranking. That covers crawling, indexing, site moves and JavaScript rendering.
  • Getting work approved and shipped. Enterprise consultants spend a lot of time here, because the fix often depends on another team’s roadmap.
  • Writing or briefing the pages. Some consultants write the pages, and others hand a brief to your writers.
  • Reporting in pipeline terms. A report should connect organic visits to demos, SQLs and, increasingly, mentions in AI answers.

Ask which of these each person does, because an advisor may stop at the plan and leave the rest to you.

Which B2B SEO consultant do you need?

Start with who buys from you, then narrow by what’s broken.

You sell software

Your list is long. For high-intent pages, talk to me or Logan Bryant. Taylor Scher suits a company that wants a fractional lead, and Eli Schwartz suits a product that could generate pages at scale.

You sell to engineers or manufacturers

The field thins out fast here. Anurag Pareek is the one person on this list with manufacturing case studies. If you want more names, ask each candidate for work with long, spec-driven sales.

You run a professional services firm

Beth Chernes is the obvious first call for accounting and finance. Legal and consulting firms can borrow the same test by asking whether the consultant knows what your profession’s rules let you say.

You have an enterprise team and a backlog

Nick LeRoy is built for getting work through approvals. If you want a second opinion on strategy rather than help shipping it, Kevin Indig is the better call.

You’re the only marketer

Bill Widmer writes for exactly this person at a $1M to $10M ARR SaaS. Tarun Gehani suits you if you want a plan you can run yourself, and Jess Joyce’s mentorship suits you if you want to build the skills.

How much does a B2B SEO consultant cost?

Among the consultants here who publish prices, one-off strategy starts around $1,500 and ongoing work around $3,500 to $7,500 a month as of November 2026. Six of the 11 don’t publish prices at all.

Hiring one person doesn’t always cost less than hiring a firm. The cheapest monthly tiers of 46 B2B SaaS SEO agencies have a median of $4,250. If you pay by the hour, GrowTal’s estimate for top freelance SaaS SEO consultants is $150 to $300 or more.

Count your team’s hours too

Advice can cost more than the invoice says. Say an advisor charges $4,000 a month and leaves your team with 30 hours of work, and those hours cost you $100 each. That’s $7,000 in total. A hands-on consultant at $6,000 who needs five hours from your team comes to $6,500. Those numbers are an example, so swap in your own before you compare quotes.

How to choose a B2B SEO consultant

These five questions will rule people out faster than a case study will.

Ask who does the work

This is the Milli Vanilli question. Find out who’ll be on your calls, who’ll write the briefs and whether any of it goes to subcontractors. A solo consultant should be able to answer in one sentence.

Ask for results with buyers like yours

A big traffic win on a consumer site tells you little about a nine-month enterprise sale. Ask for one result from a company with your sales cycle, with a number you can trace back to a source.

Ask how they count pipeline

Demos, SQLs and closed revenue are different things. Pin down which one they’d report on, how they’d connect Search Console or GA4 to your CRM, and what they’d need from your team to do that.

Ask how long you’re committing for

Terms on this list run from Anurag Pareek’s 30 days’ notice to Nick LeRoy’s six months. In my experience, SEO usually takes months to show up in pipeline, so a short notice period protects you without meaning you should expect fast results.

Ask how they handle AI answers

Get specific about which buyer prompts they’d track, what they’d change and how they’d report it. I’d be wary of anyone promising particular citations, because AI answers can shift from one run to the next.

You may need a firm instead

One person has a ceiling. If you need dozens of pages a month, link building and technical work running together, or cover when someone’s on vacation, a team makes more sense, and these B2B SEO agencies give you a place to start.

Two small firms led by named operators came up in my research. Growth Plays, founded by John-Henry Scherck, handles content, SEO and AEO for B2B tech, dev tools and investment funds, and its site lists the people on your account. Pike comes from Matt Bowers, who worked at Zillow and Zapier, and Derek Sakamoto, who worked at Figma, Zillow and Airtable. It suits companies that need product and engineering behind the work.

If writing is all you’re short of, a freelance writer will usually cost less than any of these.

Frequently asked questions about B2B SEO consultants

Who are the best B2B SEO consultants?

The best fit depends on who buys from you. Anurag Pareek suits manufacturers, MSPs and cybersecurity vendors, Beth Chernes suits accounting and financial firms, and Nick LeRoy suits enterprise companies with an SEO backlog. For SaaS companies, look at Nathan Ojaokomo for BoFu content, Logan Bryant for fintech, Tarun Gehani for a roadmap, Bill Widmer for a one-marketer team, Taylor Scher for a fractional lead and Jess Joyce for technical problems. Eli Schwartz and Kevin Indig suit companies that want senior advice.

How much does a B2B SEO consultant cost?

Among those who publish prices, one-off strategy starts around $1,500 and ongoing work around $3,500 to $7,500 a month as of November 2026. Beth Chernes’s SEO work starts lower, at $1,750. Six of the 11 consultants on this list don’t publish prices.

Should I hire a B2B SEO consultant or an agency?

Hire a consultant when you want one senior person’s judgment and your team can carry out the work, or when the consultant does it themselves at a volume you can live with. Choose an agency when you need many pages a month or several disciplines running at once. Either way, ask who does the work.

What’s the difference between a B2B SEO consultant and a SaaS SEO consultant?

SaaS is one kind of B2B. A B2B SEO consultant may work with manufacturers, accounting firms or IT services, while a SaaS consultant knows trials, demos and comparison pages for software. If you sell software, these SaaS SEO consultants are grouped by company stage.

How long does a B2B SEO consultant take to show results?

In my experience, SEO runs several timers at once. A page may get indexed within days, page-one rankings often take months, and the first demo can arrive months after that. Long B2B sales cycles usually add to the wait before you see revenue.

Choose the person who’s done your kind of B2B

Go back to the table, find the line that sounds like your company and email two or three names. Ask each of them who’d be singing on your record before you compare prices.

If your SaaS company gets traffic but few demos, and BoFu content looks like the fix, book a call with me.
